This central hotel is 10 minutes from Victoria rail, bus and coach stations. London’s attractions, including Tate Britain, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey are within easy reach.

The rooms are en suite, and have comfortable Hypnos beds, a TV with CNN and direct-dial telephones with PC modem points.

The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye, West End, museums, theatres, art galleries and royal parks are all accessible. Many shops, restaurants and cafes are a short stroll away.

The hotel recently featured in the Autumn issue of Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel guide, in an article entitled 20 Wonder Hotels in London: “good rooms at a good price are hard to find in this pricey city. We went hunting and found 20 - all for under USD 150.”

The hotel is now listed by the respected independent American publication Frommer's England 2004 Guide and in the London Moderate Hotels section of Frommer's London 2004 guide. The guide states: “a family-run business, going strong for nearly a quarter of a century, this hotel shut down at the millennium for a complete overhaul. Today, it's better than ever and charges an affordable price. Its elegant 19th century exterior conceals a completely bright and modern interior. The hotel is neat and clean and one of the most welcoming in the area. It's also one of the few hotels in the area with an elevator.”

The hotel is a Fodor’s Best Choice recommendation, in the highly acclaimed and respected Fodor's 2004 London and Great Britain travel guides.

There's plenty to explore famous sights, top-notch shopping and plenty of culture high and low, even off-season.

The New England is set in the popular area of Pimlico, which forms part of the City of Westminster. The area is bounded by Vauxhall Bridge Road, the Thames River and the railway into Victoria Station. The area is brimming with history, with stucco-fronted terraces of the mid-19th century classical design, some of the largest opulent houses were built along St George's Drive where the New England Hotel resides. History is certainly preserved with the many Grade II listed buildings in the area. Also listed are the telephone kiosks in Belgrave Road and a cabman's shelter in St George's Square.
